The Omeo MTB Trails are open 365 days a year, although individual trail closures can happen at any time due to trail works or weather. Our in house trail crew are out there 5 days a week ensuring primo tracks every time you ride!
Omeo is a true “Ride in Ride Out” meaning you really don’t need a car to enjoy the MTB experience. All facilities are within 500m of each other connected by roads and paths. The Caravan Park is 1.5km out of town via the road or a path. If you wish to explore the region however we do recommend you have a car.
A 120mm travel XC dual suspension bike will tackle most of the tracks however the sweet spot is a 140-160mm travel all mountain dually for sure. EMTB riders will enjoy riding up our XC adventure trails that can give you access to the whole network. Otherwise book a shuttle or pack your climbing legs!
We recommend at a minimum an open face helmet, glasses, gloves, knee and elbow guards. If you like to get a little more sendy then a full face helmet with goggles and a chest/back protector is a worthy investment.
At the trailhead located in Livingston Park you will find: Trail Maps, Public Toilets and Showers, Community bike repair stand, BBQ, Bike Wash and a community water station.
The Omeo Caravan Park located on the Livingstone Creek is a huge 7 acre site with over 140 powered and unpowered sites available. And a gentle off the main road1.5km ride or walk in to town.

Melbourne and Sydney Airport along with the smaller regional airports of Albury and Mt Hotham as well.

We recommend you start at the Oriental Claims carpark and give the Sluice/Water race loop a go, at 2km long this is a great into to MTB trails. If the groms have more energy then give Pioneer a go at 3km long, all the climbing is at the start with a fun descent to finish it off! Lastly you can hit up Livingstone Park and cut short laps up to the Ramp and down again as another option.

Yes you can self shuttle. However, we will always encourage riders to use the commercial shuttle service in town as a portion of these proceeds go back in to maintaining the trails and it reduces congestion on our country roads. Our shuttle service providers stay in close radio contact to avoid accidents with other shuttle vehicles however self-shuttle vehicles will not likely have these comms. Plus shuttling with mates in the bus gets the crew stoked for the run down and means less downtime shutting cars and more time shredding!
Omeo has a number of short-term rentals listed on sites like Air BNB plus we have a HUGE 7-acre caravan park offering over 140 sites ranging from unpowered to powered to glamping tents!
